(Raw) Chocolate is Good For You!
We’ve all read the headlines – “CHOCOLATE IS GOOD FOR YOU!” and it’s true, but there’s a BUT!
A bar of milk chocolate is NOT GOOD FOR YOU. It’s the 100%, raw, unadulterated cacao that gives the benefits in the form of antioxidants and flavanols.
Once you start “playing around” with the cocoa by heating it and adding sugar the antioxidants get reduced and in many cases completely negated.
So raw and organic (you don’t want those pesticides either) is best. I use Raw Organic Peruvian Cacao Powder which is also high in magnesium, iron, tryptophan, PEA, anandamide (mood boosting!) and many other healthy phytochemicals.
Add some xylitol or even sweet potato into the mix and you can start to get some pretty damn tasty chocolate dishes that taste great and are healthy too!
